Two cold but very good ice sailing days on the sea ice outside city of Pori! Ice thickness was roughly 40cm and only 1-2cm of frost on top of the ice. Ice wasn’t completely smooth, and few snowdrifts here and there. Sun was shining all day and I think we didn’t see a single cloud duringn the weekend. Thanks Haye and Vesa for organizing a great event. Very much thanks to our Swedish friends for good competition! We warmly welcome everyone to join Finnish Championships after the WC. See you on Ice!

City of Pori is 15 minutes drive from the landing site. There is a good selection of hotels to choose from. Scandic and Vaakuna to mention a couple of good options.
Update Jan28 15:00: We are gonna race this week in Finland!
Best ice discovered in Luvia, south side of Pori. Kivivesi and Mynälahti remain good options as well. It’s gonna be a chilly weekend and the temperatures might have an impact on the location selection.

Update Jan27 12:00: We have a couple of “safe choice” locations available to choose from. Both within reasonably short distance from Turku. We are still assessing some new sea ice areas in the west coast close to Pori and north side of Hanko.
The primary options based on the currently available information are Kivivesi/Kustavi and Mynälahti. Location update will be issued latest Thursday evening at 22:00.
Update Jan26: A group of sailors had a full day of great sailing yesterday at Mynälahti. We look forward doing the HSK Ranking there as well next weekend. Other options are also still monitored. Location update will be issued latest Thursday evening at 22:00.
