update 4Mar 13:20

Warmly welcome to Finland this week. We have close to perfect ice conditions.

Tomorrow and friday there will be multiple DN’s training and on the weekend there’s Finnish Championsip Regatta. We have 40cm ice, locals driving to the islands with their cars. Clear hard solid ice with no snow or water as far as eye can see. Landing very good. Two areas closeby to choose from. Both are at Taivassalo, close to Turku. Final selection to be done after the sailing tomorrow. Accomodation pretty close and common regatta dinner planned for Saturday evening.

You don’t want to miss this opportunity! Champagne sailing expected!

Update 3Mar 21:00

We have ice – pack your gear!

Säkylä/Pyhäjärvi has been sailed today. Very small snow patches should already be gone due to the rain this afternoon and evening. Tomorrow and Thursday our ice teams will check couple of more areas before the venue selection and official location announcement.

In parallel to the ice checks we are monitoring the weather forecast. Wind and temperature might have an impact on the venue selection.

Stay tuned and think ice!

Update 27Feb

Current warm period is doing an excellent job for us – many areas are soon clear for sailing! The whole week will have day time temperatures of + degrees – including the regatta days at the monitored and aimed areas. Night time expected sub-zero.

We are primarily looking towards the SW coast line of Finland. All looks very good. Welcome!
