While Grand Masters gathered to Säkylä, there was a cheerful group of ice sailors having fun at Kajaanselkä, Vesijärvi.

A nice almost 50 nm cruise on Saturday and a regatta on Sunday. Plenty of happy faces even though it was rather wet and chilly.

Results of the Lahti Ranking Regatta. Good to note that it is not counted in as an official ranking regatta due to the fact that the number of participants was 9 (less than 10).

DN Lahti chapter kutsuu Kelluvan Ranking kisan ensi sunnuntaille! Suunnitelmissa myös Retki lauantaina esim. Vääksy-Lahti-Vääksy. Edullinen majoitus Aurinkorannan mökeissä. Kilpailupaikka julkaistaan viimeistään torstaina klo 22.

Valitettavasti purjehdittavaa jäätä ei ole ja Kahakka Ranking joudutaan perumaan.

Unfortunately there is no suitable ice to sail. We have to cancel Kahakka Ranking.

It is under consideration if an extra ranking regatta could be arranged on Jan 18-19 or Jan 25-26 or even both. Stay tuned!

We are sorry to note that the planned extra regatta is cancelled. The snow fall during the past 24 hours fouled all the areas we were monitoring. Snow cover combined with light wind forecasts is a combination that just would not work.

Next DN event in Finland is Kahakka Ranking, Jan 11.-12. Welcome!

Itsenäisyysregatta was sailed in perfect conditions. International fleet and very high level of competition. Winner P36 Karol Jablonski. 2nd C20 Rasmus Maalinn. 3rd P254 Rafal Sielicki.

Good ice, almost snow free. Wind 3-5 m/s, gusts 6-7 m/s. Sunday offered a bit lighter winds than Saturday.
